DJ Speedsta Reveals He Earned R10K P/M At Metro FM

Lesego Nkaiseng popularly known as DJ Speedsta finally reveals the real reason he left Metro FM after being with the station for five years.

DJ Speedsta joined the Metro FM line-up in April; 2017 from YFM. He co-hosted a show called Absolute Hip-Hop alongside Lootlove and DJ Jaws. On the 1st of March 2022 he took to his Instagram to announce that he was leaving Metro FM saying that he was tired of everything. On the lengthy post he detailed how he joined Metro FM after being poached from YFM. He said he got a call from Mr Siglo while he was in Amsterdam and Mr Siglo offered him a job at Metro FM. He also mentioned that he took all of his savings and bought his way out of his YFM contract to join Metro FM which he described as his dream job at the time.

DJ Speedsta also mentioned that at YFM he earned R9100 nett per month and at YFM he earned R10 000 nett per month. This would explain his sudden departure from the station. DJ Speedsta also revealed that while he was employed at V-Entertainment as a presenter alongside Shane Eagle and Lalla Hirayama he earned between R16 000 and R18 000 per month. He also said most of his money came from his gigs being a club DJ and not from broadcasting.

I also remember a couple of years back when we went to audition at Melrose Arch for the MTV VJ Search thingy and how nasty Nomuzi Mabena was to everybody kanti bebehola nemali ebhedayo, hectic. Gworl, aren’t am I glad I didn’t book the job and stayed at that School of Radiography after umntu anyelwa u-Nomuzi at that funky ass auditions.
